Arriving from the mainland on the historic Flagler Memorial Bridge (aka the North Bridge), you will find yourself surrounded by magnificent towering royal palms, exquisitely groomed flowerbeds and lush tropical gardens. The historic “Main Street” of the island, Royal Poinciana Way, is home to an array of inviting storefronts with unique facades. Discover a diverse collection of shops from Steuben Glass and the latest arcade of new stores at the Breakers Palm Beach to the Tropical Fruit Shop (great souvenirs and pirate stuff), all within walking distance of one another. Be sure to visit one of the many famous Palm Beach restaurants or just enjoy a leisurely stroll down the street.
Start your exploration on Coconut Row just west of Royal Poinciana Way at the ROYAL POINCIANA CHAPEL, built by Henry Morrison Flagler in 1898. Next door is Flagler’s Gilded Age estate, Whitehall, which is open to the public as the FLAGLER MUSEUM. You’ll also have a chance to look at the oldest house in Palm Beach, Sea Gull Cottage, purchased by Flagler and lived in while Whitehall was being completed as a wedding gift to his bride.

Mildred Hoit began over 40 years ago and has since blossomed into a fashion hub offering women’s sportswear, including collections from Averado Bessi and Bernard Zins, as well as hats and handbags from Eric Javits and Stefano Bravo.

Continue east on Sunrise and you’ll find the PALM BEACH BICYCLE TRAIL SHOP (223 Sunrise Ave.), which rents and sells a full range of bikes as well as in-line skates, mopeds and baby joggers. The shop is open seven days a week, does repairs on the premises and offers bike tours.
On the southern side of the North County Road block between Sunset and Sunrise avenues is the PALM BEACH SYNAGOGUE, which is housed in an Italian Gothic-style building dating from the 1920s.
Across the street is the historic PARAMOUNT BUILDING (139 North County Road), which is easily identifiable by the large Hollywood-style “Paramount” sign displayed on the front. Built in 1927, the building now houses two levels of office space as well as the Paramount Church.
PETIT PASTEL, INC. ( Suite 5), in the Paramount Building, offers children’s clothing that are classic, contemporary and of the highest quality. In the northeast corner of the Paramount Building, the LIMAN GALLERY features fine art by established and emerging artists.
The Spanish Renaissance-style ST. EDWARD'S CATHOLIC CHURCH sits across the street on the corner of North County Road and Sunrise Avenue.
